How to sit up

Do you remember how little kids sit upright with their legs in front of them? We all have this ability, we’ve just lost it over years of habits. These lessons improve sitting both in a chair on on the floor. As you clarify new (old!) patterns along the front and back, the hip joints become more and more free.

The idea is to create a coordinated, balanced use of the torso that allows you to rest on your bones instead of in your muscles.

To learn we need time, attention, and discrimination; to discriminate we must sense. This means that in order to learn we must sharpen our powers of sensing, and if we try to do most things by sheer force we shall achieve precisely the opposite of what we need.
